Ueyama Ryokan was established in 1874 in Shiota Onsen, the secret garden of Harimano.
In mid-Edo Period, mountains were opened up for the natural gushing hot spring and our inn was built with stones on a flat ground.
Come and have a special, peaceful moment and feel the history while being surrounded by the beautiful, magnificent nature in all seasons.
About us- Ueyama Ryokan
The first hot spring inn in Shiota Onsen, The historic inn since 1874
Shiota Onsen was discovered in Nara Era. It has been utilized as a medical hot spring for over 300 years.
We are the first hot spring inn in Shiota, with traditional drinkable spring water with medical values.
Our hotel is over 66,000 m2 large with huge yards all surrounded by woods. We have our own forest community- Shiota Onsen Yakushido Hall, Jizo stone statues (for good eyesight), bright reddish bridge, a pond, azalea, bamboos, and huge lodges.
Enjoy a special moment here far from the city hustles.
Seasonal changes
Wonderfully sparkling greens From spring to summer
In spring, our hotel is all surrounded by the wonderfully sparkling greens. The green azalea is especially refreshing like telling time for you. There are also mosses, particularly heavenly in rainy days.
Indulgence in the bright reddish Autumn leaves
In autumn leaves season (around November), our hotel is all yellow and red for the splendid leaves. Take in beautiful views from your room or bath and be embraced by autumn- it will be an extraordinary moment of yours.

Drinkable hot spring
A signature of our inn is the traditional drinkable hot spring water works to heal digestive diseases. It tastes like salted lemon-lime.
Shiota Onsen Yakushido Hall
Dedication to Bhaisajyaguru for the nice hot spring given to our inn.
Inari Okami
Dedication to Inari Okami at our garden. It is the spirit of Kawasaki Inari from Shiso City.
